writing and rhyming

In an effort to not make the article too long, here is the second part of the ABC's of Cancer - created  by patients at St. Jude and read by children in association with the Reading, Writing and Rhyming Tour.

The heroes of the St Jude Radiothon this year?  I'll tell you right now.  It was this group of kids who helped us out by reading these very touching "ABC's Of Cancer" essays.

A special hello, and a SPECIAL apology to Mr. Flanagan's fantastic class.  I won't go into it, but there was a MAJOR "fail' on my part causing this little song to not play on the day that it was scheduled.  Please accept my sincere apologies!!!   With that said, let's hear the song!

Mrs. Bacher - yet another of the many great Capital Region elementary teachers I had the pleasure to meet doing the school program.  It's always a very friendly environment in her class.  In fact, the kids wanted to write a song about that very important character trait - being friendly   The results are below

I always have a great time at this school with this great teacher, Mrs. Brooks. These were really well behaved, cute kids with an important message ( I would like certain members of the NFL to especially pay attention)

Good times, and clever kids with a message.   I guess that sums up my experience at Blue Creek Elementary School in Latham.  They had something really important to share with the world - be Peacable!!  Here's the cute song they wrote about it.

It's true!  I'm pretty much filling the calendar for my Reading, Writing and Rhyming Tour, but i wanted to get the message out now that the new year is in full swing!

i had a fantastic time (as usual) at St Thomas The Apostle School in the Delmar area.  I was interested to see what their "wish list" was for the jolly old bearded man.  They not only told me, but they ended up creating a song parody in no time flat.  Here is their creation!

I always appreciate getting letters about the school program – especially from the kids.  I thought I would share some of these cute and touching letters.

I would certainly be appreciative if everyone tuned in with her kids on Wednesday morning to hear what these five Capital Region schools have collectively written about the perils of bullying.
