I'd heard about the Patriot Flight for a few years and finally, a year or so ago I experienced it first-hand.

I saw an Honor Flight arrive at the World War II monument once when I was in Washington DC a few years ago. At that moment, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of and on Saturday, I finally did it and it was my honor to be there.

Veterans Day is Monday, November 11.  Many of you have the day off from work or school.  Banks are closed as is the US Postal Service, and most government buildings.   What you may or may not realize is that it is just fortunate that the 11th happens to fall close to a weekend to give you the long weekend ...
