The 9th Annual Fallen Officers Memorial Ride will be happening August 29th, this year honoring Detective Sergeant Randall French.
As Blue Friday is focused on law enforcement, of course he will be honored as Detective Sergeant Randall French of the Troy Police Department...
One of our favorite organizations at WGNA is Blue Friday. Each year we raise money for the families of our fallen men and women in blue, those who made the ultimate sacrifice. One of those families last year, was that of Trooper Timothy Pratt.
On Friday morning, the GNA Morning Show will be live at the Hannaford on Wolf Road road from 5:45-10a in support of Blue Friday. Blue Friday helps families of fallen law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and while we are honored to be a part of this, we we would love for you support this great cause by stopping by and making a donation.
It was a pleasure getting to know Officer Justin Wallace from the Albany Police Department at our 3rd annual Shop with a Cop. Justin shared with us why he felt so compelled to make it an extra special Christmas for one Albany family he sees every day on his beat.
I know you don't want to wrap presents yourself, I know this because I hate doing it too! I will however do it for you if you will help us to raise money for WGNA's "Shop With A Cop". Bethany and I will be at Crossgates Mall today from 5 pm to 7 pm wrapping presents for charity and we would love to see you there...
If you know me at all you know that making sure all children have a magical Christmas has always been a passion for me. I'm going to make it happen again this year, and need your help.
I am completely saddened to pass this news on to you this morning. Senator Hugh Farley has announced that he will not be seeking re-election in New York's 49th District this fall. I personally can not remember a New York without Senator Farley and he is one of the most loved politicians this state has ever known. These will be some very big shoes for someone to fill indeed.
This weekend I was reminded as to exactly why I started "Blue Friday" so many years ago. It is a reminder I wish I never had, and my heart goes out to Sergeant French of the Troy Police Department , his family and friends and hope for a full and quick recovery.
It reads like the opening scene in a movie. A routine police stop in an instant becomes a deadly situation, leaving a police off
