This Sunday June 12th, marks the 4th Annual Deanna Marie Rivers (518) Memorial Softball Tournament – an event you don’t want to miss.

If you don’t have any plans this Sunday, I really think you should consider heading the Miss Shen Fields in The Clifton Park Commons to support this great foundation and celebrate Deanna Rivers, who we lost tragically to a car accident.

This tournament is designed to honor and remember Deanna’s spirit and how much playing softball meant to her. Deanna loved to play softball and planned to attend the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. “She loved the game and we’re going to try to continue to do this as long as we can,” Deanna’s father, Brian Rivers said.

High School girls from across the Capital Region registered to play in the tournament.  This year girls from 25 different Capital Region high schools were selected to play.

On Sunday, opening ceremonies will begin at 10:30 am followed by a clinic for girls 12 & under.  Games will begin at 11:15 am and the Championship game will be held at 3:30.   Following the championship game, there will be a one- time financial scholarship awarded in Deanna’s honor to the player that makes the most positive impact in the tournament.

It’s a full day of fun for the whole family.  Your donation of $3 per person will grant you entry.  There will be food, beverages, raffles and more.  All the proceeds will benefit the Deanna Marie Rivers Foundation.
