Last week when Jeff Gordon announced that this year would be his last season as a full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, a replacement was not yet announced. This week we found out who will drive the No. 24 in 2016.

Chase Elliott, son of newly inducted NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott, will run five races this season in the No. 25 Chevrolet. Elliott will then take over the full-time driving duties of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24 made famous by Jeff Gordon in 2016.

Elliott was on hand last night at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte to watch his father's induction into the HOF. In addition to "Awesome Bill From Dawsonville" other inductees in this year's Hall of Fame class included Fred Lorenzen, Wendell Scott, Joe Weatherly and Rex White.
