There were some problems and issues in the past in the downtown area. At a Saratoga Springs City Council meeting on Tuesday, some outdoor art supporters and street performers voiced their opinions in favor of allowing the possible new ordinance.

If the ordinance gets passed there will be some strict rules that will have to be followed. What they’ll have to do is get a permit for $20 dollars before they can perform on public streets. They will have to stay away from other street performers with a distance of at least 50 feet. Another stipulation of the ordinance is stay at least 10 feet away from street corners, building entrances and handicap parking spots.

According to the story from CBS 6 Albany, the hearing has been left open by the City Council, which is going to meet again on April 21.
