About six days ago, a construction crew snapped some power and telephone wires, and the phones have been out of order since then.

No Phone Service

Many of the people are seniors. Not only is it an inconvenience, but it’s also a dangerous situation. In a story from WNYT, ninety-year-old Howard Hickins said that “no phone service means his Health Alert bracelet has not worked for almost a week.” This also goes for the Lifeline medical alert phones, used for health emergencies by many of the seniors.

The construction crews were working on Grooms Road in Clifton Park at Coburn Village. Some of the people without phones have been told by Verizon representatives that their service should be back by sometime this evening.

If you know of any seniors in that area, it may be a good idea to go and check on them.
