Snow Update: Up To 18 Inches Possible For Parts Of Upstate New York
Snowfall totals for Upstate New York have risen considerably for winter storm Ember.
What a difference a couple of days makes!
What started as a storm that was looking like it would glance Albany and Upstate New York with a few inches of snow is now predicted to bring a much bigger wallop. We have gotten use to our snow predictions going in the other direction of late, so its nice to finally have a good snowmaker making its way here.
Winter Storm Warning In Effect
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 7 pm this evening (Sat, January 6th) through 7 pm tomorrow (Sun, January 7th) for the Capital Region and surrounding areas Upstate.
News Channel 13 says the heaviest snow will fall overnight into Sunday morning and will taper off Sunday afternoon and evening. NWS says snowfall rates of an inch per hour tonight into early Sunday.
