Recycle Your Old Pumpkins Across The Capital Region After Halloween
Halloween is almost here, which means you've probably got your candy bowls full, costumes ready, and of course, your pumpkins carved.
When the holiday comes to an end, you can easily eat the candy, and throw that costume in the closet for later use, but your pumpkins require a different method of disposal.

Properly Disposing of Your Pumpkins
Pumpkins are, obviously, a natural part of this earth. As such, they're typically able to simply return their nutrients back to Mother Earth after their use. Pumpkins are excellent composting material, and folks are encouraged to use this to their advantage.
Across the Capital Region, there are half a dozen events where you can smash your pumpkins up, and allow them to be collected as compost. Take note, however. Remove all candles, and avoid composting a gourd that is painted or has glitter on it. These are pollutants and could cause serious damage to the ecosystem.
