This is the big fight happening as we speak on the Facebooks.  Hmmm. I had to think about this one, as I'm sure you did as well.  I'll give you my 2 cents, and then I'd like to hear yours

According to CNN, there was a meeting on this very issue, with members of the gay and lesbian community up in arms about having to reveal their real names. Hmmm.  Here's where it got me to thinking.  I see their point.  Why should they have to?

There are many brick and mortar companies that go by alternate names online and aren't obligated to tell us that they are hiding behind another persona. Why should WE have to?

How about celebrities that want to keep their real names and identities from the public.  Shouldn't they be allowed?  I don't want to know that Kim Kardashian's real name might be Gertrude Shwartz or something.  Not that I'm a celebrity, don't get me wrong, but if my name wasn't really Richie Phillips, I wouldn't want people to know my real name.  I'd rather keep my "show name" on there for my OWN privacy reasons, and just for show biz reasons.

Case closed. I'm with the privacy people here.  I'm wondering how you feel?
