It can be quite scary living your life, day to day, worrying that someone may harm you or your family, because of an unhealthy obsession. This situation happened to Shania Twain recently.  This led the 'Any Man Of Mine' singer to place a court order against a fan that was making unwanted visits to her family's cottage and places of work.

Alleged Shania Twain stalker Giovanni Palumbo, a former surgeon, surprised everyone at his recent trial. In the middle of Shania Twain's 90 minute testimony via video, AP reports that he interrupted Shania and declaired "I'm going to plead guilty."

Taste of Country reports that some of his inappropriate letters to Shania numbered in the hundreds, saying things like “I love you more than anything in the universe” and “I need you more than anyone else in the world because I love you more than anyone else in the world could love you.”  Furthermore, he brought several vehicles, that really didn't need repair, to her brother-in-laws' body shop, in the alleged hopes of meeting the singer.

I can only imagine the wasted time and energy that Shania Twain, her family and business associates spent on this matter.  Sadly, this is a reality that comes with being a celebrity.
