We here at GNA are getting geared up for the CMA Awards on Wednesday. Our own Jake Thomas and Kevin Richards  have been down in Nashville for a few days talking to the biggest names in country music. I love award shows because you get to see all of your favorite artists on one show. It's like watching one big concert with all the musical performances.

With that, I thought I would compile a short list of some of my favorite performances from the CMA awards from the past decade or so. There have been so many of them, but these five stand out the most to me.

1. Alan Jackson "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)"--2001

It was right after 9/11 and no one had ever heard this song before. It was an extremely touching moment on the show. I know I had tears in my eyes.

2. Miranda Lambert "Kerosene"--2005

I picked this one for two reasons. Miranda totally rocks out dancing in the fire and I can happily say I was at this awards show when it was in New York City for the only time in its history.

3. Brad Paisley "This Is Country Music"--2010

Another song that had never been heard before. I loved the song as soon as he finished the first verse. I knew it would be a hit.

4. Jason Aldean And Kelly Clarkson "Don't You Wanna Stay"--2010

I remember the day after the award show that many listeners were asking us to play this song after this performance!

5. Shania Twain "I'm Gonna Getcha Good"--2002

Shania Twain ridin a motorcycle in a sexy outfit??? You now have Scottie B's full attention!

You can bet there will be some great live performances on Wednesday night as well. Don't forget we will have the CMA Awards for you on GNA starting at 8pm. So if you are not near a television, you won' t miss a thing!
