Schodack Robbery Suspects Arraigned After Chase

Robbery, highway chase end with an arrest Saturday.

It started Saturday morning, when Scionti Laurenzo, 22, of Albany, and Peter Watson, 21, of Rensselaer, alledgly robbed the Jewelry Repair Center on Columbia Turnpike.  According to a witness descriptions the pair exited the store and entered a vehicle to get away.

Police spotted the vehicle westbound on I-90 where the highway chase began.  The pair tried to escape police before losing control of their vehicle trying to enter I-787 southbound.  The pursuit did not end there.  The two suspects then fled the car and ran on foot.  Police were able to apprehend the two men on foot near Huck Finns Warehouse.

According to police a loaded pistol and revolver were recovered from the vehicle.

The pair are charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny. They were arraigned in Schodack Justice Court and sent to Rensselaer County Jail without bail.  The Jewelry Repair Center is located at 1629 Columbia Turnpike.
