Schenectady Fire Department Selling 2 Station Vehicles! Need A Car?

I was driving along Central Avenue in Colonie a week or so ago when I noticed a vehicle for sale at the Fire Department. Then I realized it was one of the departments own SUV's that was available!
The very next day I noticed another Stanford heights Fire Department vehicles was parked out front and for sale! This time it was one of their pick-up trucks! I placed a call to the department to find out more.
As it turns out, when it's time for the department to move on to newer vehicles they place their soon to be out of service vehicles up for sale. How do you get one? You have to place a sealed bid.
According to the Stanford Heights Fire Department Facebook page, the vehicles will be sold to the highest bidder in a sealed-bid auction format. Bidders must submit sealed bids to the fire district secretary no later than June 21, 2022, 7pm. Forget the mail at this point! If you want to submit a bid you can hand deliver it to the department at 2240 Central Avenue, Schenectady.
