There is a new officer in Saratoga. His name is Apollo and he is a former race horse turned police horse. His owner reached out to the Saratoga Police wanting to donate him after his retirement from racing and the force was happy to have him.

Apollo couldn't just go from a race horse right to the streets of Saratoga, so he went through vigorous training in Rockland County. They put the horse through mounting training and situations. He has already worked Caroline Street and his mounted officer says that he is a natural.

Also, part of Apollo's job is community outreach. He works along side veteran police horse King Tut. Saratoga Police just retired their last police horse named Jupiter who served his time on the force and is now enjoying his time on a farm.
