Sam Hunt Tackles Domestic Violence in New Video [Watch]
Sam Hunt could have taken the easy route and made a sexy bar video for his song "Take Your Time." When you first hear that song, you assume that is about a guy hitting on a girl at a bar and wanting to just take a few minutes of her time.
But, Sam decided to use his new found fame to send a message. He made a dark, stormy, short film about a woman who starts out happy in a relationship, but then gets in too deep with an alcoholic who hurts her, both inside and out. The couple's baby is caught in the crossfire.
Sam Hunt plays the hero in the video. He intervenes in a volatile situation.
Unfortunately for millions of women, Sam Hunt does't just happen to be walking down the street.
Did you know that 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime?
And that women ages 20 to 24 are at greatest risk of becoming victims of domestic violence?
Without help, girls who witness domestic violence are more vulnerable to abuse as teens and adults. And boys who witness domestic violence are far more likely to become abusers of their partners and/or children as adults, thus continuing the cycle of violence in the next generation.
Most domestic violence incidents are never reported.
Help change the facts. Speak up, speak out, and make a difference for victims of domestic violence.
