It's Military Appreciation Day at the Saratoga Race Course this Thursday, July 22nd. The New York Racing Association (NYRA) will be honoring military members and veterans throughout the racing day.

There will be free grandstand admission during Military Appreciation Day at the Saratoga Race Course for all United States military service members and veterans. You must show a valid military ID or proof of service. There will also be veterans and active military members honored throughout the day. Local servicemen and women will be brought to the winner's circle during the third race and that race will be named in their honor. The fifth race will honor service members in the winner's circle from the New York State Military Forces, including the New York Army National Guard, New York Air National Guard, New York Naval Militia, and New York Guard for their work during the pandemic according to News 10 ABC.

The New York Racing Association is honored to recognize the service and dedication of the men and women of the United States military and this year, we are especially honored to pay tribute to members of the New York State Military Forces for their service and commitment to keeping our communities safe during the pandemic.

There will also be a special tribute to the NYRA service members and veteran employees. A ceremony will be held in the winner's circle following the playing of the National Anthem by the local acapella group Racing City Chorus.

Gates open at 11 am.
