Join The Fun At Saratoga Race Course Kids’ Day
If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend, Saratoga Race Course has you covered. This Sunday(July 27th) is Kids Day, and it’s packed with activities that go way beyond just watching the horses go around the track.
Along with the usual race schedule, families can enjoy pony rides, ice cream for just a buck, and a lively round of bingo. Over at the Family Zone inside Gate A, you'll find reptile shows, a puppet show, and even a dance performance where kids can join in on the fun.
Also, the kids will be able to cheer on their favorite mascot. A whole crew of local mascots will be there, including Bernie from Siena, Damien from UAlbany, SouthPaw from the ValleyCats, and a bunch more. There’s even going to be a mascot race on the track.

Kids will also have the rare chance to step into the racing world for a bit. Some will help out with real track duties, like announcing changes or giving the traditional “Riders Up” call in the Paddock.
It’s part of the NYRA STAR program, which gives young fans access to behind-the-scenes moments and hands-on experiences.
Gates open at 11 a.m. and racing starts at 1:10. The first 5,000 kids, 12 and under, will get a Saratoga headband and a $25 gift card to Hildebrandt’s Ice Cream, both available at the Family Zone.
