Safe Streets WIll Be a Focus For Niskayuna

How are the streets in Niskayuna? Well, they're about to get a lot better.

From the Daily Gazette, based on plans that a group formed back in June of 2016, the sidewalks, bike paths and road ways will be improved this year at the same time. Apparently, all three will get equal emphasis when the construction begins.

A few major players in this plan are members of the group "Complete Streets."

Complete Streets is made up of community members along with the Niskayuna Town Planner, Laura Robertson.

Though no plans have been set in stone yet they will be pedestrian focused.

Should this be the new focus moving forward? Do bike paths and walkways match the priority of the roads? Or should the roadways always take precedent?

Remember, ultimately the citizens of Niskayuna will be paying for this. I think they should decide.
