Popular National BBQ Restaurant Coming to Busy Part of Colonie

A busy section of Colonie will be getting a popular barbeque restaurant that is replacing a national pet supply company.

Mission BBQ has over one hundred locations nationwide. There is currently only one other Mission BBQ in New York state. This will be the first of its kind in the Capital Region.

What is Mission BBQ?

Mission BBQ was created by two friends who believe there is nothing more American than barbeque. According to their website,

Every day we strive to serve you authentic BBQ made from the freshest, most delectable ingredients, and serve it to you in a patriotic dining room filled with tributes to those who’ve made Our Country great, given to us by the people who earned them. Stop by at lunchtime, and you might catch us during our daily salute to the Stars and Stripes. We don’t do any of this because we have to. It’s because we want to.

What is on Mission BBQ's Menu?

You will find traditional barbecue items on Mission BBQ's menu. They offer brisket,

pulled pork

along with chicken, sandwiches, and many sides including mac and cheese and coleslaw.

Where in the Capital Region is Mission BBQ Being Built?

The second Mission BBQ in New York State will be built at 1440 Central Avenue in Colonie. This is the site of the former Petco in the Northway Commons. The only New York location is in Henrietta, NY near Rochester.

Mission BBQ is currently hiring a general manager and a kitchen manager. The grand opening is planned for the winter of 2023-2024.
