Opening Update on Troy’s Upcoming Cat Cafe
Have you ever wanted to meet a friend at a cafe and be surrounded by fluffy kitties? Well, you're in luck because we have an update on when we can expect the cafe to be opening here in the Capital Region.
A concept that originated in Taiwan is coming to the Capital Region in the form of Meong Cat Lounge. We announced the opening back in October but haven't heard any word yet as to an update.
Last we heard, the cafe was going to open at 348 Second St. in South Troy in Spring 2019. The cats inhabiting the cafe will be from partner shelters and rescue organizations so they will be available for adoption.
I happened to be scrolling through the Troy subreddit yesterday and saw that I wasn't the only one curious. Someone had asked the community if anyone had an update on a potential date since, if sticking to schedule, it should be opening very soon. According to a co-founder u/MintyMerry, "Our opening date is still pending construction progress! Fingers crossed that it'll be done not too far from the estimates (I'd be surprised if it's on target)..."
If you want to keep up to date, you can join their mailing list and know when they'll be opening first when they announce it.
