One Local Man Accused Of Two Burglaries

A 36-year-old East Greenbush man is in trouble with the law after being suspected of committing burglaries of two businesses. Both are located on Columbia Turnpike.

Anthony J. Witbeck was arrested and charged with breaking into the Wrangler Grill on January 3, and LaBella Pizza on December 28, 2014.

There was an arrest warrant issued by the East Greenbush Justice Court. He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshalls and New York State Police earlier today.

According to a press release from the East Greenbush Police Department, Witbeck was arraigned in East Greenbush Town Court on several charges including two counts Burglary in the third degree, Grand Larceny in the third degree and others. He was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail and has a preliminary hearing on Friday.

There are other cases being investigated that authorities believe Witbeck is considered a person of interest. Some of them include identity theft and additional larceny cases.
