This Troy Venue Is Bringing VHS Back In Style For Halloween
I love Halloween. There's something in the air every October that seems almost... liminal. The scares, decorations, costumes, and all around vibe are just too fun to ignore.
My favorite pastime around this time of the year is to find the absolute worst B-Movie Horror and throw it on, and one Troy venue is taking that idea to a community level.
No Fun!
Located on River Street, right in the heart of the city's historic downtown is No Fun, a live music and arts venue. The venue is always full of something to do, whether it's a local band jamming out or a rave played entirely on vinyl records.
Music isn't the only thing No Fun has in store though. They share my love of campy and cheesy horror flicks, and more importantly, my love for old physical media...

VCR Vortex
Every Tuesday night, from eight to eleven, No Fun opens its doors for those who feel the same connection to B-Movies that I do. They host their VCR Vortex - VHS Night, which allows folks to come in, cozy up, and watch classic horror films on VHS, the way they were intended to be seen.
While this is a very "Halloween" experience, the fun doesn't stop in October. This is a year round event, every week like clockwork. The best part? The event is completely free, week after week. So, want to find some community, or maybe just catch a flick you haven't had the chance to see yet? Then I'll see you Tuesday nights on River Street.
