Lucky NY Lottery Million Dollar Raffle Tickets Sold In Upstate New York-Are You Holding One?
The New York Lottery just wrapped up its Million Dollar Raffle, and there were a few lucky winners in and around the Capital Region.
This special raffle wasn’t just about winning big, though it was also part of the Erie Canal’s Bicentennial Celebration, a nod to one of New York’s greatest achievements.
In total, more than 5,000 winning tickets were sold across the state, with prizes ranging from $200 to $1 million. Fifteen people are now millionaires, another fifteen scored one hundred thousand each, and fifteen more took home twenty-five thousand. Thousands of others snagged two-hundred-dollar wins, which isn’t a bad way to end October.
Here in our area, one of the million-dollar tickets was sold in Schenectady County at a Stewart’s on High Bridge Road. Another million-dollar winner came from a Stewart’s in Poughkeepsie.
Saratoga County got in on the action, too, with a one-hundred-thousand-dollar ticket sold at the Stewart’s in Waterford and a twenty-five-thousand-dollar winner at the Sunoco in Stillwater. Rhinebeck and Saugerties also saw big wins, with lucky players cashing in tickets worth $100,000 each.

The tie to the Erie Canal made this raffle more than just a game. Two hundred years ago, the canal helped connect communities across the state and spark New York’s growth. Now, it’s still bringing people together, but this time with a little extra excitement.
