New York Knicks’ Legendary Voice, Family Loses Home in Devastating Fire [PHOTOS]
Mike Breen is one of the most beloved voices in all of sports broadcasting.
Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, Breen graduated from Fordham University in 1983. Fast forward to 2022, and Breen has just completed his 30th season of broadcasting in the National Basketball Association. He's been broadcasting for the New York Knicks since 1992, and has been the lead voice of the NBA on ESPN/ABC since 2006.
His voice is known by millions, and those millions are sending their support to him and his family following a devastating event that happened to them on Sunday, September 25th.
Long-time NBA, Knicks' Broadcaster Mike Breen and Family Lose Home to Fire
A story from The New York Post appeared yesterday morning, sharing the details of a tragic night at the home of Mike Breen and his family. It was reported that a massive house fire had destroyed Breen's home, which is located in the area of Manhasset on Long Island.
The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department posted the following video following their fire fight:
The local fire department responded to a call just after 4AM on Sunday, September 25th, and worked to control the blaze. By then, however, it was far too late, and the fire ended up taking the entire home.
Thankfully, no one was in the home at the time, and no one was injured as a result of the blaze. While we're all thankful for this news, our hearts still go out to the entire Breen family at this time. Though no one was hurt, they lost their entire home, and everything in it.
The New York Post shared this statement from Breen's employer, ESPN:
We were able to obtain photos of the house fire from The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, who we thank for sharing these images online. Scroll below to take a look at the damage that was inflicted on the home from the fire.
Most importantly, however, keep the Breen family in your thoughts and, if you're so inclined, your prayers, as they continue to recover from this devastating day.
