In an effort to inspire young girls, Barbie will be representing inspiring women. There will be a few new dolls released in this new series. According to CBS 6 Albany, Mattel, the makers of the Barbie doll, are paying tribute to important women in history. They are releasing new Barbies in their "Barbie Inspiring Women Series".

The inspiring women being made into Barbies are jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, founder of modern nursing Florence Nightengale, and tennis legend Billie Jean King. These three new Barbies come with specifically themed accessories, a certificate of authenticity, and a doll stand. These three new dolls join the other inspirational women collection. They include the Rosa Parks Barbie and the Sally Ride Barbie that were issued last year.

Mattel refers to these new dolls as "incredible heroines of their time who took risks, changed rules and paved the way for generations of girls".

All of these inspiring Barbies are available at Target, Walmart, Amazon, and online at Barbie.com. They are $29.99.
