For Capital Region diners who grew up eating at our local TGI Fridays locations in Wilton, Clifton Park, and Saratoga Springs, it was sad news when they closed up shop last year.
In the wake of all these closings, it is super refreshing to report on a NEW eatery coming to one of those old Fridays locations.
Is A New Shake Shake Burger Joint Coming To The Capital Region?
Another local Shake Shack? Yes PLEASE!
According to the food experts, or in this case, the restaurant sleuths at the Times Union, a new burger joint is set to open in the old TGI Fridays at Stuyvesant Plaza. The report says there is a sign on the old building that reads "On the Way Burgers & Fries' and a plaza official did confirm with the TU that a new tenant will be moving into the popular Guilderland shopping plaza, but nothing more.
Stuyvesant Plaza did add some buzz to the Shake Shake conversation by posting a blurry photo of a burger and some crinkle-cut fries on its Instagram, Based on the look of those fries and the green color background of the burger, the TU speculates it could be a Shake Shack!
Shake Shack or not, based on those photos it looks pretty certain a new burger joint will bring the old Fridays restaurant back to life which is awesome news! And let's hope it turns out to be our first Shake Shack with easy access outside of our local Thruway rest stops and Saratoga Race Course!
