National Chemistry Day

National Chemistry Week kicks off officially tomorrow, but we are getting a head start right here in Albany with our own National Chemistry Day!

Each year the American Chemical Society's National Chemistry Week emphasizes the positive impacts of chemistry on society. This year's theme is "The Sweet Side of Chemistry - Candy" showcasing the chemistry involved in candy and confections.

The local Eastern New York Section of the ACS is getting a jump on National Chemistry Week with National Chemistry Day today at the New York State Museum in Albany. Interactive demonstrations will be presented along with fun hands-on activities and experiments. There will also be a chemistry magic show and door prizes.

The event is free and fun for all ages.
