Nascar Legend Dick Trickle Dead At 71 – Apparent Suicide

I was sad to see the news come across on this story. Dick Trickle was a Nascar veteran and literally was on the track until he was almost 60.He retired in 2002 from the world of Nascar as a driver. He was admired by drivers in the sport and if you saw the movie "Days Of Thunder" starring Tom Cruise he paid a salute to Dick Trickle by naming his Nascar driving character Cole Trickle. Trickle apparently took his life near The Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincoln County North Carolina. I hope that Nascar gives him a moment of silence this weekend at the Nascar Sprint Cup Series All Star Race at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. More on the sad news here.
