NASCAR Driver To Dance With The Stars
The Waltrip family name has been a part of NASCAR's top racing series for decades and now is headed from celebrating in victory lane to dancing in the ballroom.
Two-time Daytona 500 champion Michael Waltrip will be one of the 13 celebrities joining with their professional dancing partners as part of the cast on Dancing with the Stars when the show premiers for Season 19 on September 15.
Waltrip is the younger brother of three-time NASCAR national champion Darrell Waltrip who now works as a television race analyst.
Michael Waltrip is currently part owner of Michael Waltrip Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series, still races occasionally and also provides color TV commentary for NASCAR races. He'll be the second professional race car driver to compete on the reality show. Helio Castroneves did very well on the show in 2007 with partner Julianne Hough. Hough will be returning this year as one of the show's judges.
Waltrip's partner is Emma Slater who previously advanced to the Dancing with the Stars finals with partner Bill Engvall.
