Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart is coming to town.  Fonda Speedway management has announced that Stewart will compete at the track during a special event on Thursday night.

Stewart will race with the All Star Circuit of Champions 410 sprint cars when they invade Fonda for the special mid-week show.  Stewart is also slated to race his sprint car the night before in Central New York at the Brewerton Speedway.

The reigning NASCAR champion is known as one of most versatile drivers in motorsports.  Before coming to NASCAR Stewart was a IndyCar series champion with the Indy Racing League and with USAC midgets, sprint and Silver Crown cars.  He has won in a sprint car with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and in modifieds on both asphalt and dirt.

Plus Stewart is no stranger to the Capital Region.  Stewart has won with the modifieds at Lebanon Valley Speedway and set a track record with the Empire Super Sprints at The Ridge.

Stewart's last NASCAR win came at Daytona last week and he will start 10th in the Lennox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on tomorrow.
