Brad Keselowski has said that when he was growing up he didn't just want to be a race car driver - he wanted to be a great race car driver.  Now he is officially a NASCAR champion race car driver.

NASCAR concluded its 2012 season Friday night with the Sprint Cup Series awards banquet to end Champions Week in Las Vegas.

Keselowski, his team owner Roger Penske, crew chief Paul Wolfe and the entire Penske Racing organization were honored for their accomplishments in 2012.

This is both Keselowski's and Penske's first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title but Penske has 23 other series championships plus 15 Indianapolis 500 victories.  Family, friends, fans, employees and associates all came to celebrate, congratulate and party with the man known as "The Captain".

Here are the final 2012 official driver standings for the Sprint Cup Series.
