That man was the late Dr. Milford Becker from Altamont. He purchased the land, which is more than 150 acres, in the 1960s. He contacted the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy and talked with them about some ways to preserve the land, which is located along the Bozen Kill ravine. They hope to have the preserve completed and open to the public sometime in 2015. His daughter Linda Becker stated that “it was a blessing to see her father’s wish come true".

In the story from News 10 ABC, in addition to the Becker’s family property, the M.H.L.C. has also acquired some of the neighboring properties. This will be for the new preserve which will be called the Becker Preserve On Bozen Kill.
