Winter finally hit the Albany area this week, and it may inspire you to some wintertime fun stuff. One thing that came to mind was snow tubing. I did this awhile back and loved it. I will admit, the first time down the mountain is the toughest. After that, you couldn’t keep me off the trail. Here are a few places to snow tube within a reasonable driving distance. Better do it soon because spring is just around the corner.

A beautiful place in the Catskills. They have special events for the snow tubers.

This is one more beautiful Catskill Mountain place. Complete with a 650-foot snow-covered slope to do your snow tubing.

You could head north to the Adirondacks to North Creek. You can snow tube in the evening under the lights.

This is in Lake Luzerne. They have 12 runs to enjoy, complete with bumps for a daring ride. Besides snow tubing, you might want to keep this place in mind for the summer. That's when they do lazy river tubing.

Just off exit 18 of the Northway in Queensbury. Snow tubing complete with six chutes.
