Local Woman Charged With Tattooing A 13 Year Old
More and more minors are able to get tattoos with or without parents consent nowadays, and an 18 year old local woman is now facing charges for tattooing a minor. The girl that was tattooed was only 13 years old.
Rogeana Zasa, 18, of Palatine Bridge, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child. Details of the alleged incident are somewhat unclear, but according to News 10 ABC the incident didn't take place at reputable tattoo parlor, the incident took place at a home in Broadalbin.
Under New York State law, it’s illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to get a tattoo with or without a parent’s consent. But it’s become more common for minors to find a way around the law. The internet makes it relatively easy to purchase cheap needles and the equipment necessary to do tattoos at home. It appears as though this is what happened in this situation. Zasa was released and ordered to appear back in court on Novemeber 2nd.
