Local Whitehall Man Going to 2018 Winter Olympics [VIDEO]
The Olympics are such a sense of strength and perseverance and I love being able to cheer on the United States in hopes that we bring the most golds home. I usually see people from all over the country but rarely anyone from this area, until this year!
Codie Bascue from Whitehall, NY is headed to Pyeongchang, according to WNYT. The 23-year-old WHS graduate will be competing for the US Bobsled Team in both the two-man and four-man events.
Codie is the number one driver for Team U.S.A. and got there by driving back-and-forth from Whitehall to the nearest bobsled track in Lake Placid. Bascue has had a love for the sport since he was 8-years-old and on Monday, learned that he would be headed to Korea.
Whitehall has done nothing but embrace him by already planning viewing parties at the Whitehall Elks Lodge. His competition is planned to begin on February 18th.
If you want to know more details about the Olympic schedule as well as how you can watch it, Women's Health Mag broke it down pretty well. Don't miss Codie and hopefully, we'll see him and the US Bobsled team bring home the gold!
