Local Clock Tower Glows Red This Month

If you’ll be traveling through Schenectady around City Hall at night, you may notice something a little different about the clock tower.

December 1 was World AIDS Awareness Day and in recognition, the clock tower on City Hall will be glowing in red. Schenectady Mayor Gary R. McCarthy decided that it would be a great pleasure to light it up in red every night for such an important issue.

According to the story on WNYT, World’s AIDS Day recognition was started back in 1988.
