Ladies, Looking To Be More Outdoorsy? Workshops Offered

Ladies, if you have been trying to be more in tune with nature and interested in all things outdoors, there are workshops being offered and registration is now open. According to News 10 ABC, the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is offering their 26th annual "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" workshops.

There are many workshops being offered like basic fishing, kayaking, hiking, and even archery. They have also added new workshop courses including introduction to hobby farming and a basic self-defense course. These workshops are being offered to help women feel more confident in the outdoors.

The backdrop for these workshops is the Silver Bay YMCA Conference and Family Retreat Center right on Lake George. They run September 13-15 and open to women 18 and older. Registration is limited to 125 women. There is a lottery system in place because these workshops are so popular. You must register by July 1st.
