A Kinderhook Sunoco gas station on U.S. Route 9 was robbed by someone that used a kitchen knife.

The robbery happened on Thursday evening. Authorities got to the robbery scene and used a canine to help in finding the suspect. They were led to an apartment where there was someone outside. The person was waiting for the suspect, to give him a ride home.

The man accused of robbing the business was 29-year-old Michael Cristaldi from Niverville. According to the story from WNYT, the friend told police that he knew nothing about the robbery and was asleep when it happened. Cristaldi was sent to the Columbia County Jail.
