Brian and Chrissy had a fascinating conversation with John Rich from 'Big and Rich' just a few days before he and Big Kenny prepared to throw down at WGNA's Countryfest 2019 in less than a week. In part 1 of this two-part GNA interview with Rich, listen to how he explains the backlash faced when industry critics called their act 'a joke' and how if management had their way 'Save a Horse' would have never been a hit.  He also comments on the success of Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' and why he gives the country/rapper a big 'thumbs up!'

Even if you don't listen to country, you know who Big and Rich are thanks to 'Save a Horse(Ride a Cowboy)'. If you listen to country, well it goes without saying that for the last 15 years or so, no other group has gotten more airplay on radio, television, weddings, parties and bars!  But it hasn't been easy for this fun-loving duo. Rich is outspoken but very reasonable.  He's passionate and intelligent.  He speaks loudly and proudly about his love for his country, his bands perseverance, their amazing fans and even, you guessed it...politics.

Check out Big and Rich along with Old Dominion and more, this Saturday, July 6th at SPAC! To get tickets for Countryfest 2019, click here.
