Yankee fans, how we doing out there? This proved to be yet another disappointing season for the Bronx Bombers and it's safe to say that the fanbase is pretty tired of "almost." They're the New York Yankees. While I realize that every organization's goal is to win the World Series, the Yankees have that expectation more than any other franchise in Major League Baseball.

Stop talking about 27 rings

As a Yankee fan I am also tired of the 27 rings thing. In the late 90s and early 2000s the Yankees were on top of the world. In 2009 they got back to that, but since 2009 it has been rough. Aaron Boone took over as manager of the team in 2018 and since that time he has not lived up to expectations. Sure, they made it to the World Series in 2024, but they lost. They're either lost in the playoffs or missed the playoffs since he was manager. It is time to move on.

How can Yankee fans move forward after 2026?

Moving on and accepting that the season is over for them is going to be tough for you, I know this. There are a few things that Yankee fans can do now that they've been eliminated by the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS.

1. Hate watch The Rays

If watching the Rays after the game didn't fill you with rage, you're not properly doing it. Their arrogant and cocky attitude has made it very easy to cheer on who they will face in the ALCS, whether that is Chicago or Cleveland remains to be seen. But make sure you watch them with all the hate in your heart. Project the bad vibes their way and hope they go down hard.

2. Take solace in knowing they're not the Mets

The Mets finished dead last in their division year. Besides the Boston Red Sox, there isn't a fanbase that cheers harder against the Yankees. Nut, when your team goes almost a decade without making the playoffs (2015-2024) and then loses on the NLCS only to miss the playoffs in 2025 and 2026, you have to find something to cheer for I suppose. (NOTE: I know that the Yankees lost in the ALDS and that evens out the playing field for 2027, but also, I don't care)

3. Look forward to other sports

I have to assume that most Yankee fans are still riding that high of the Knicks winning the NBA Championship over the summer. They've officially begun preseason, so those games are there for your enjoyment. The New York Giants are currently in first place in the NFC East, and the Buffalo Bills are also in first place. In the WNBA, the New York Liberty are in the playoffs, but things look dire for them right now being down 2-0 to Atlanta. We don't talk about the Jets.

4. Get outside

It's fall, guys! Get out there and enjoy yourself. Apple picking, pumpkin patches, haunted houses. This will put you right back in that happy place until next spring when we have hope once again.

5. Chill out. Drink a 7up. Eat a MoonPie

You are the master of your own universe. Don't let this drag you down. Enjoy those simple things in life because at the end of the day, it's just sports. You also have literally no control over it, so move on to other things that bring you happiness. Also don't forget that we swept the Red Sox in the Wild Card. We can hold onto that. F*ck Boston.
