
Chocolate Ladybugs Recalled For Potential Life-threatening Allergen
There is a recall on a worldwide chocolate brand due to a nut allergen with a potentially life-threatening allergen once consumed.
As you start to gather candy for the Easter celebrations this spring, keep in mind that one specific German-style candy that has been distributed to Washington D.C., Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York!

According to a United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) press release, Lidl US is recalling all lots of their Favorina Chocolate Ladybugs - German-Style Nougat 3.52 oz box UPC 20304492 due to undeclared hazelnut allergen. See the pictures below.
The products were distributed between January 28, 2026 through March 11, 2026. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the product containing tree nuts was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of hazelnuts.
If customers have purchased this product, DO NOT CONSUME IT. Immediately return it to their nearest Lidl store for a full refund, no receipt required. Customers who have questions about this voluntary recall should call the Lidl US Customer Care Hotline at 844-747-5435.
