Durant Trade Marks Historic NBA Disaster For Brooklyn’s GM

Well, it finally looks like the circus has officially Barclays Center in Brooklyn. From the moment Kyrie Irving landed in New York in 2019, to mortgaging the farm for James Harden in 2020, until Wednesday night, when it was reported that Kevin Durant was traded, the Brooklyn Nets franchise has been a mess. Now will Nets' owner Joe Tsai make someone pay for his team's calamity?

Nets general manger Sean Marks, created the historically bad situation, allowing each of the 3 superstars he acquired to force their way out of town. Durant, the last piece and one of the very best players in the NBA, twice demanded to be traded and finally got his wish on Wednesday.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns for forward Mikal Bridges, who is a great pick up, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four unprotected future first-round picks, sources told ESPN on Wednesday night. Bridges is great and maybe the draft picks will be awesome but Joe Tsai's team went from contending for an NBA championship to a complete rebuild in a few weeks. When has that happened?

It's time for Tsai and the Nets to move on from Sean Marks. He has wasted millions of the team's dollars and has frustrated the Nets' fanbase to a new level. The Brooklyn Nets never had a plan under Marks. He fired Kenny Atkinson because he was too tough on the players and brought in a completely unqualified Steve Nash. By the time Marks couldn't hide Nash's inexperience, Harden was gone, Kyrie had lit the dumpster and Durant, the only player that Marks should have ever been concerned with keeping, was miserable. Sean Marks' lack of a direction for this team led to a historic NBA downfall. Now it's time for the Nets to find a direction with a new general manager leading that charge.
