Number Of Miles The Bills Will Travel This Season

Now that the NFL schedule is out you can see that some teams are looking at a clear disadvantage this year.

The disadvantage lies in the number of miles that each team will have to travel.  While the NFL can monitor who is playing who and how often, unfortunately, they can't make geography the same for all teams.  Some will have to travel more than others.

Bill Speros is a betting analyst and a journalist who broke down all the numbers to find out how far each team would be traveling this year just to play their games in the 2024-2025 season.

As you can see, the LA Chargers will be traveling the furthest distance at almost 27,000 miles and 36 time zones.  If you've ever had to deal with jetlag, you understand why not only the miles make a difference, but the change in time.

It matters because the more time you're traveling, the less time you have to be practicing, resting, and being at home where you're comfortable.

Washington will travel the shortest distance at just over 10,000 miles through 18 time zones.  The team that will deal with the fewest time changes will be Houston at just 8.

The Bills are kind of close to the middle of the pack (#21) and are actually leaning toward the shortest distance.  They'll be traveling 16,710 miles and changing their clocks 14 times.

The international games this year include:

• Green Bay/Philly (Brazil)
• New York Jets/Minnesota (London)
• Jacksonville/Chicago (London)
• New England/Jacksonville (London)
• New York Giants/Carolina (Munich)

Even though Jacksonville is traveling to London twice, they're still not even in the top 10 when it comes to distance traveled this year.  However, all three of the Bills' AFC East rivals are all in the top 10 for the furthest distance (Miami #2, New England #4, New York #9).

But...that's also just for the regular season.  Hopefully we're looking at a home playoff berth again and won't have to go anywhere until the Super Bowl.
