We had been hearing Uber and Lyft would be here by July 4th weekend, and that us now a reality.

NYUP.com is reporting Governor Cuomo signed legislation last night that will allow the ride-sharing services to start operating June 29th! So it looks like they will be 'rolling' just in time for the long 4th of July weekend. Uber says they will be up and running on the 29th, so users will be able to download the app and book rides that day according to the article.

All I have to say is 'YES!' and 'FINALLY!' Having lived in an area that had Uber before I moved here, I have missed the service, especially in more rural areas where cabs are not readily available or expensive. Plus, Uber is just more convenient when it comes to hailung a ride. I think I am going to have to use if for the FGL show at SPAC in July!

Happy ride-sharing this summer and beyond!
