Is Another Actor Running For Office In New York?

Rumors are floating around that another famous actor could be taking a run for a public office.

According to a New York Upstate report, rumors have been swirling that Richard Gere could potentially run for for Congress to represent the 18th Congressional District. This district is to the south of the Capital Region of us and includes some of the Hudson Valley.

But, it looks like this is just a rumor. A rep for the 'Pretty Woman' actor pretty much put the rumor to bed telling Yahoo Entertainment saying it was 'Not true.'

It's always fun to soeculate on these types of rumors, and a lot fell in to place to make this one feel believable before Gere's rep responded. NYUP says Gere graduated from high school in the Syracuse area, and local politicians were even stating that Gere would be a possible candidate. And hey, based on his performance in 'Pretty Woman,' you have to guess he would do well in all those political power meetings right?
