Many well known actors and musical artists are branching out, if they haven't already, by merging into other industries.  A common route celebrities head towards is the fragrance industry. While it can be difficult to come up with a smell unique to that particular brand, once the celebrity has patented an aroma they call their own, it's not hard to make a profit while still concentrating on their first profession.

So the question is, what fragrance rakes in the most money and for which celebrity. There are certain perfumes or colognes that have been around for years, still bringing in huge profits for the celebrity its paired with, but some fragances you might not realize go hand and hang with a face and name you know.

Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds

"White Diamonds" -- This is a ladies perfume by Elizabeth Taylor(just deceased).  Last year, Taylor saw the largest amount of profits from "White Diamonds" with $54 million. That's not a bad chunk of change, part-time. I'd take it!

.

"Driven" -- This is Derek Jeter's cologne for men. The fragrance brough hom $27 million last year. Though Jeter doesn't see all the profits from the sales of that cologne, I'm sure, it's still not a bad amount in pocket change for him (not that he doesn't already make enough from his Yankees' paycheck).

"NYC" -- This is none other than Sarah Jessica Parker's perfume.  Kind of goes hand and hand with her stardom from "Sex and the City," duh!  NYC saw $18 million in sales in 2010.

.

"Fancy" -- Jessica Simpson's perfume.  When Simpson was coming out with her country album a few years back, I accumulated a bottle of this perfume.  Save your money -- it's a little overbearing.  However, someone is buying it because it tied NYC with $18 million in sales last year.
.

"Glow" -- You might not know this, but while she isn't busy being People's Most Beautiful Woman, an American Idol judge, a mother, singer, or actress, Jennifer Lopez stands helps promote this perfume.  Last year, Glow brought home $12 million.

"In Bloom" -- Also, earning $12 million, was Reese Witherspoon's fragrance.  I didn't know Witherspoon had a fragrance she promoted.  I might have to hit the mall and check it out.  I am a perfect product of marketing.  Since I like Reese and her work, that makes me more interested in possibly purchasing her perfume.  Isn't marketing great?
