How Did The New York Rangers Comeback And Beat The Penguins?
The Rangers and Penguins series was absolutely incredible. If you love fast paced and intense playoff hockey, than this was the series for you. It went the full seven games and went into overtime in Game 7. I really thought that the Rangers were done when they were down 3-1 in the series. They then rallied to win Game 5 by a score of 5-3 in a massive comeback win. They then went into Pittsburgh and won Game 6 5-3 and rallied from behind yet again. It all culminated last night in a 4-3 OT victory for the New York Rangers when Artemi Panarin scored the game winner on a powerplay goal. The Rangers will take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the next round beginning Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
MJ is a huge Ranger fan and was all pumped today and of course had his Rangers jersey on yet again. They surprised us both with their improbable comeback to win the series and advance in the NHL Playoffs. Below is our full conversation on this from earlier this morning on Big Board Sports.
There is something special about this Ranger team. They have already handled about as much adversity as you can have in one series. They have come from behind on multiple occasions and are fearless. They are also one of the youngest teams in the NHL which clearly helped them down the stretch against the aging Penguins. Goaltender Igor Shesterkin stepped up big time for the Rangers after struggling in the beginning of the series. I really enjoy watching this New York Ranger team and wish them continued success.
