Hometown Hero Leaves Area To Pursue FDNY Dream
John Bradke is originally from Niskayuna where he served as a volunteer firefighter for 12 years, but in his heart, he knew he needed to be doing what he loves down in New York City. So 5 years ago he chased his dream of becoming a firefighter in the Bronx, leaving behind a loving girlfriend, family, and friends. He told GNA why he decided to make such a bold leap and it's the kind of life-changing decision that makes John and easy choice for October's Hometown Hero.
John was nominated by his girlfriend Erica who told us in her submission to GNA that John 'is the type of person who is always there for you, no matter what. He has a kind heart and is always willing to help out anyone he can. He moved to NYC 5 years ago to follow his dreams of being a FDNY firefighter, and this past week, his dream came true.'
Congratulations to John Bradke, a proud member of the FDNY down in the Bronx sacrificed so much to pursue a dream, that became a reality.
County Waste has partnered with us to honor those in our communities who are truly making a difference.
