Hey Mon! Jamaican Bobsled Team Staying in the Adirondacks

The Jamaican bobsled team has landed in Saranac Lake. The original plan was to use one hundred thirty-five thousand dollars from Franklin County. When that fell through, the North Country Sports Council said they would financially support the team.

The North Country Sports Council's Matt Dougherty said that the arrival of the Jamaican bobsled team is a huge hit in Saranac Lake according to WCAX. He said,
Tremendous energy., We had a little special meet and greet with the team and I would guess that 1,000 pictures were taken of that bobsled with people in it -- very exciting for Saranac Lake.
They want to keep the Jamaican bobsled team in Saranac Lake for longer than the six months that they are slated to stay. He is hopeful that the state, county, or other organizations will help fund the team for the long term.
